Description

1/4"-28 UNF HSS Plug Hand Tap for cutting internal threads by hand or in a tapping head. Cutting edges on the chamfered lead progressively form the thread as the tap advances, with straight flutes carrying chips back out of the hole. This size has a 1/4" cutting diameter, 1" of flute, 2-1/2" overall length and a 0.255" shank.

  • HSS construction that holds a keen edge at moderate cutting speeds and regrinds easily.
  • Tin Coated finish, titanium nitride coating raises surface hardness and allows higher feeds.
  • 1/4" thread at 28 threads per inch.
