Description

1/4"-18 NPS HSS NPS Pipe Tap for cutting straight pipe thread in fittings and housings. Straight pipe thread engages on a constant diameter, so the joint holds mechanically and seals with a gasket, o-ring or sealant rather than by thread wedging. This size has a 1/4" cutting diameter, 1-1/16" of flute, 2-7/16" overall length and a 0.5625" shank.

  • HSS construction that holds a keen edge at moderate cutting speeds and regrinds easily.
  • Uncoated (Bright) finish, leaves the edge bare for free cutting.
  • 1/4" thread at 18 threads per inch.
