Description
These 1/4" diameter .75-.87 grip blind rivets are manufactured from Aluminum, featuring a dome head. The aluminum mandrel is pulled into the body, expanding the shank and forming an upset on the blind side before breaking off near the mandrel head. The dome head is slightly rounded and about twice as wide as the body, which gives a low, neat finished face. Aluminum-on-aluminum rivets carry the lowest shear and tensile values of the break-mandrel range, so they suit joining materials of similar strength rather than dissimilar ones.
- Material and finish: Aluminum, Plain finish
- Head style: Dome Head
- Mandrel: Aluminum
- Diameter: 1/4
- Grip range: .75-.87
- Ultimate shear load: 460 lbs minimum
- Ultimate tensile load: 560 lbs minimum
- Applications: Blind-side sheet metal and panel assembly
Installation is with a standard hand or pneumatic rivet tool: drill the hole, insert the rivet, and pull the mandrel until it snaps off flush. The grip range is the total thickness of material the rivet will clamp, so measure the stack-up before selecting a size.
