Mutual Screw & Supply is a specialty fastener distributor based in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. We have supplied screws, bolts, nuts, washers, anchors and related hardware to manufacturers, electrical suppliers and contractors since 1947.
Our story
Mutual began in 1947, when Harry Migdal and his son Herb opened Mutual Screw & Hardware in rented space on Mercer Street in lower Manhattan. Early customers were the dinette and mirror manufacturers of the New York area. Over the next decades the business grew into packaged fasteners for hardware stores and lumber yards, and into the electrical supply industry.
In 1981, with much of the customer base moving out of the city, Mutual relocated to a free-standing building in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, close to major highways and the Port of Newark. Acquisitions of Riteloc Fasteners (1991), All Fasteners of Paterson (1993) and Universal Fasteners of Midland Park (2004) broadened our inventory and customer base and made Mutual one of the region's established fastener houses. Mutual was also an early internet seller, reaching customers well beyond the New York metro area.
